At the former site of the commercial facility, Susukino Lafiler, at the Susukino crossroads, once symbolized by a large signboard advertising Nikka Whisky, we are planning the development of large-scale mixed-use facilities. The planned facilities consist of commercial stores such as a food supermarket and cosmetics and drug store, a cinema complex, and a hotel. Through various contents at the entrance of Susukino to attract visitors, we aim to expand the range of people visiting the area and the time they spend there, creating a lively atmosphere not only at night but during the day. In order to contribute to the urban development of Sapporo as a whole, we will develop a shared cargo handling area that can be also used by stores neighboring the planned facilities.
LARGE-SCALE PROJECT
COCONO SUSUKINO
Facility concept
The facility concept is “Making Susukino Sapporo's playground-a district full of life both night and day.” This project views “play” as the chief attraction of Susukino, Hokkaido's leading dining district and a well-known sightseeing area in Sapporo. Urban development projects are underway in various locations in the center of Sapporo. At the entrance of Susukino, we will create a new “playground” where people can enjoy “play” through a wide variety of experiences, from exciting to restful. As a result, we aim to expand the range of visitors to Susukino and the time they spend there and promote the creation of a lively atmosphere there not only at night but also during the day.
Making Susukino Sapporo's playground
-a district full of life both night and day
Bringing play to Sapporo, the heart of Hokkaido,
Making Susukino a playground,
a place you always feel like visiting when you come to town,
a place where you know you will have a good time.
Whether you go there looking for fun or just discover it,
it's a place where everyone can find both excitement and relaxation.
When you have no particular aim other than to have a good time,
whether you visit alone or with friends, there is a place here for everyone.
Yes, this is your playground.
Meeting new people, enjoying things you never imagined, discovering the hidden pleasures of Sapporo as one encounter leads to another.
That is the kind of playground we aim to bring to the everyday life of Sapporo.
Facility plan
The supermarket on the 2nd basement floor and the market on the 1st basement floor will respond to the daily needs of Sapporo residents and neighboring restaurants with a wide variety of products, including high-quality foods made in Hokkaido. On the 1st floor will be a cosmetics & drug store and the flagship roadside restaurants of the complex, while the 2nd floor will consist of merchandise and service stores emphasizing customer experience value. On the 3rd and 4th floors, a food court and alleys will serve as an unusual setting for a large concentration of restaurants. Various entertainments will also be provided in the maisonette section of the atrium space. A cinema complex will be located on the 5th to 7th floors and a hotel from the 7th to 18th floors. In addition, to ensure the building does not seem closed off, glass curtain walls will be used in the upper and lower sections, and through green indoor and outdoor plazas where events can be held focusing on the Susukino crossroads, a lively atmosphere created by various contents will spread not only in the facilities but throughout the entire district.
